Comprehensive Cancer Care Close to Home

The choice of where you and your family will receive cancer care is a critical one. Fighting cancer takes strength, and Premier Health believes you should save and dedicate your strength to your medical care and recovery, not to drive time to and from your cancer center. Premier Health comprises four cancer centers that are conveniently located and easily accessible by you and your family.

An Extensive Network of Top Physicians

At Premier Health, we see every cancer patient as an individual, and our team of physicians is here to provide compassionate care with a multi-disciplinary approach. With more than 15 medical oncologists on staff, Premier Health physicians were trained at top institutions, including Harvard and the Mayo Clinic. Many of our surgeons are trained in robotic surgery for prostate, GYN, chest, kidney, and abdominal procedures. We also have a neurological oncologist, a team of specially trained gynecology oncologists and seven radiation oncologists.

Innovation: Advanced Technologies & Facilities, Clinical Research

Premier Health offers advanced cancer fighting tools and technologies, including chemotherapy, radiation treatments, surgical interventions and clinical trials, all close to home where you need them most. From brain surgery to Yttrium-90 radioembolization, we have the expertise and equipment needed to provide powerful cancer care for you and your loved ones.

Some of the cancer-fighting tools and technologies include:

  • True Beam Linear Accelerator is an advanced radiation technology able to deliver powerful cancer treatment with pinpoint accuracy and precision. Premier Health is the first in the Dayton area to have this kind of equipment.
  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery uses the linear accelerator mounted on a robotic arm to target tumor sites with high intensity ionizing radiation. It includes an X-ray system to verify a tumor’s position. It also includes a respiratory gating system to monitor moving tumors and adjust the robotic arm to make up for the motion.
  • NanoKnife uses electrical currents to destroy cancerous tumors, instead of more typical heat or cold, to avoid damaging non-cancerous nearby tissue. The procedure is a minimally invasive option for inoperable or hard-to-reach tumors, including ones near major blood vessels and other critical parts of the body.
  • Chemoembolization delivers a high dose of chemotherapy directly to the liver while depriving the tumor of its blood supply. Embolization keeps the chemotherapy drug in the tumor by blocking the blood flow to other areas of the body. A higher dose of chemotherapy can be used because less of the drug circulates to the healthy cells in the body.
  • Radio Frequency Ablation is a focused heat treatment used to treat cancer in patients with liver tumors. It is performed with a probe that can be programmed for very specific temperatures. This can be used on one or several small lesions in the liver.
  • Cryoablation delivers the energy directly into the tumor similar to radio frequency ablation; however, rather than killing the tumor with heat, cryoablation uses an extremely cold gas to freeze it.
  • Robotic-assisted Surgery allows surgeons to offer a minimally invasive option for complex surgical procedures. Benefits from robotic surgery may include shorter hospital stay and recovery time; less pain, scarring and blood loss; and less risk of infection.
  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy is an advanced technique that allows our physicians to treat patients with high doses of radiation in a shorter number of days.
  • Total Body Irradiation is a radiotherapy technique used to treat a body undergoing some type of transplant. This therapy requires the most sophisticated quality controls and physics support. Within the Miami Valley region, only our facilities have the necessary expertise to perform this potentially lifesaving therapy.
  • Total Skin Electron Beam is used to treat Mycosis Fungoides or cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). This highly specialized technology is available at only a few cancer centers in the United States. We are the only local facility to offer all of the latest methods of administering radiation therapy for skin cancers including such skin applicators as the Leipzig, Valencia and Freiburg Flap.
  • Fully Integrated Image Guided Platforms provide real-time tumor tracking and visualization that allow for adaptive therapy of Y90 Microspheres to treat liver cancers. Premier Health is one of only 120 sites in the U.S. that offer this treatment.
