Atrium Medical Center Receives Quality Achievement Award for Stroke Care

Recognized By American Heart Association and American Stroke Association

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (July 21, 2022) – Atrium Medical Center has received the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®- Stroke Silver Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, researched guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence from the American Heart Association.

“We are proud to be recognized by the American Heart and Stroke Associations for our quality stroke care,” said Keith Bricking, MD, president of Atrium Medical Center. “This recognition acknowledges our stroke team’s consistent application of the most current, evidence-based treatments for stroke patients, which saves lives and improves patient outcomes.”

The award was earned by meeting specific quality measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period. These measures include evaluation of the proper use of medications and other stroke treatments aligned with evidence-based guidelines, with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients. Before discharge, patients also receive education on managing their health, a scheduled follow-up visit, as well as other care transition interventions.
