Premier Health Appoints Margaret Lozovatsky, MD as system’s next Chief Digital Information Officer
DAYTON, OH – April 10, 2026 – Premier Health announced today that Margaret Lozovatsky,
MD will join the system as its new Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO), effective May 4,
succeeding outgoing leader Mikki Clancy, who recently retired after 32 years of service to
the organization.
A nationally recognized physician executive and digital transformation leader, Dr. Lozovatsky brings more than 15 years of experience advancing clinical excellence through technology, innovation, and responsible AI integration across major U.S. health systems. Dr. Lozovatsky currently serves as Chief Medical Information Officer and Vice President of Digital Health Innovations at the American Medical Association (AMA), where she has been instrumental in shaping national strategy on digital health, artificial intelligence governance, and physician workforce readiness. Before joining the AMA, Dr. Lozovatsky held senior informatics leadership roles at Novant Health, BJC HealthCare/Washington University School of Medicine, Cedars-Sinai Health System, and NorthShore University HealthSystem.
Her background advancing digital innovation, education, and clinical excellence in academic environments aligns strongly with Premier Health’s commitment to strengthening academic medicine in the region. Her arrival comes at a pivotal time as Premier Health and Wright State University deepen their collaboration through an enhanced affiliation agreement—an initiative designed to elevate medical education, research, clinical innovation, and the transformation of care delivery for the communities we serve.
The search committee for Premier Health’s next CDIO was chaired by Chad Whelan, MD, System Chief Operating Officer and President of Miami Valley Hospital, with Premier Health partnering with Kirby Partners, a nationally recognized executive search firm specializing in healthcare technology and informatics leadership. “Dr. Lozovatsky is a visionary digital health leader with a proven record of advancing technology that enhances care, strengthens clinical engagement, and measurably improves the patient and provider experience,” said Dr. Whelan. “Her expertise in AI governance, clinical informatics, and digital strategy will be invaluable as Premier Health continues to innovate and elevate the quality of care for our communities.”
A board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Lozovatsky has earned national recognition for her contributions, including the 2025 AI Med Leader of the Year Award and the 2023 HIMSS-AMDIS Physician Executive of the Year Award. She is a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association and a frequent keynote speaker on AI in healthcare, physician well-being, and the future of digital transformation.

Dr. Lozovatsky earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wisconsin Medical School, completed her Pediatrics residency at Rush University, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Marquette University.
