Premier Health Hospitals Earn National Healthgrades Honors
DAYTON, Ohio (Oct. 27, 2026) – Premier Health hospitals earned numerous national specialty care recognitions from Healthgrades for 2027, highlighted by Atrium Medical Center’s designation as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care™. Across the system, Healthgrades recognized Premier Health hospitals for excellence in specialties ranging from cardiovascular and pulmonary care to emergency hospitalization, critical care, stroke treatment, and gastrointestinal services.
The recognitions reflect Premier Health’s commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care across Southwest Ohio. As an academic health system, Premier Health connects patient care with education and research through its affiliation with Wright State University and the Boonshoft School of Medicine.
“These recognitions reflect the expertise, compassion, and dedication of our caregivers throughout Premier Health," said Keith Bricking, MD, Premier Health executive vice president and chief clinical officer. "As an academic health system, we’re uniquely positioned to combine clinical excellence with education, research, and innovation. That enables us to continuously strengthen our programs, bring advanced therapies to our communities, and provide patients throughout Southwest Ohio with access to nationally recognized care close to home."
All three hospitals earned the Healthgrades Pulmonary Care Excellence Award™, while both Miami Valley Hospital and Upper Valley Medical Center received the Gastrointestinal Medical Excellence Award™. Miami Valley Hospital also earned excellence awards for critical care and emergency hospitalization, and Atrium received additional excellence awards for cardiac care, cardiology, and stroke care.
"These awards span specialties ranging from cardiovascular and pulmonary care to emergency medicine, critical care, and stroke treatment," Bricking said. "That breadth of recognition reflects the strength of our integrated academic health system. When physicians, providers, researchers, educators, and caregivers work together across hospitals and disciplines, patients benefit from more coordinated care, greater access to specialized expertise, and better outcomes."
