Premier Health Announces Creation of Premier Physician Network

Consolidated network will leverage people, processes and technology into one model of care

DAYTON, Ohio (March 10, 2017)Premier Health announced today the creation of Premier Physician Network, a consolidation of its employed primary care and specialty provider practice networks.

Premier Physician Network consists of more than 600 physicians and advanced practice providers and their practices formerly operating as two separate entities known as Premier HealthNet and Premier Health Specialists. The move – led by a team of Premier Health physicians and leadership – allows the health care system to transform provider practices into a single high-performing, and clinically integrated model of care.

“Premier Health is committed to delivering health care to our community in a way that places the patient first,” said Lou Ralofsky, MD, President of Premier Physician Network. “Premier Physician Network will enable us to leverage our people, our processes and our technology to create an innovative care delivery model across our physician network.”

Dr. Ralofsky emphasized that current Premier HealthNet and Premier Health Specialists patients will not experience any major changes to their care from current providers.

“Logistical details – such as a provider’s location and phone number – will remain the same,” Dr. Ralofsky said. “However, patients may notice positive changes over time in how their coordinated care is carried out among primary care and specialty physicians.”

The Premier Physician Network name was chosen because it best reflects the close integration and collaboration of primary care providers and specialists who care for area patients. The consolidation will usher in a new care team model among the practices, which will implement standardized roles and responsibilities while equipping providers with the training and tools they need to succeed.

When operating as separate entities, Premier HealthNet and Premier Health Specialists were among the largest physician networks in Southwest Ohio. The combined network includes more than 120 practices in various specialties such as primary care and internal medicine and bariatrics, breast care, burn and wound care, cardiology, cardiovascular-thoracic surgery, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecologic oncology, hand and reconstructive surgery, infectious diseases, maternal-fetal medicine, neurosciences, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic joint surgery, orthopedic spine surgery, ophthalmology, pediatrics, physiatry, plastic surgery, podiatry, psychology, pulmonology, sports medicine and urology.  Premier Physician Network physicians and advanced practice providers serve patients throughout Southwest Ohio, reaching communities as far north as Versailles and as far south as Kenwood in Northern Cincinnati.

Premier Physician Network is a part of Premier Health, which includes Miami Valley Hospital, Atrium Medical Center and Upper Valley Medical Center. For more information on Premier Physician Network or to find a physician near you, call 1-877-747-4362.
