PHN Staff Participated in Rusty's Ride

Premier HealthNet received a plaque for the largest group at the recent event called Rusty's Ride. The group participated in the 21st annual Rusty's Ride, presented by Xenia HOG Chapter #2703 and sponsored by Buckminn's D&D Harley-Davidson. The motorcycle ride fundraiser raises money to provide Christmas gifts for children served by the Greene County Combined Health District.

The legacy of the exceptional 21-year old  graduate of Beavercreek High School and mechanic at Buckminn's, Rusty Shearer, lives on through the annual fundraiser since its inception in 1992. Rusty died in 1991 in a traffic accident. The event has provided more than $110,000 to fund the Holiday Project. The money keeps the GCCHD Holiday Project well-stocked. Over the years, more than 14,800 families have received assistance.  In early December, the Holiday Project opens its doors and for three weeks distributes new items for Greene County families.
