Premier Health Among 2022 Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America
Acknowledged for Proactive Steps to Support Employees’ Health and Well-Being
DAYTON, Ohio (November 23, 2022) – For the second year in a row, Premier Health has been named one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America by Healthiest Employers® for its in the health and well-being of employees. This award honors organizations that demonstrate care for their people by investing in health and well-being solutions and initiatives.
Scoring is based on each organization’s Healthiest Employers Index — a metric that reflects six categories:
- Culture and Leadership Commitment
- Foundational Components
- Strategic Planning
- Communications and Marketing
- Programming and Interventions
- Reporting and Analytics.
Companies are recognized because of their commitment to workplace wellness and their exceptional health and benefits offerings. Even with many employees returning to the office or to hybrid schedules, employers have had to adapt their workforces to reflect the ever-changing views of the modern American office. Increased flexibility, work-life balance, and mental health resources have proven to be common trends among Healthiest Employers honorees.
The questionnaire, scoring, and benchmarking were developed with the help of a national, non-biased group of representatives from the academic, medical, and wellness communities.
“We meet our employees where they are on their health journey through education, coaching, virtual offerings, internal policies, and spiritual wellness,” said Joshua Ordway, MD, chair of the Premier Healthy Living Operations Committee. “Investing in our employees’ health demonstrates just how important each and every staff member is to Premier Health and its mission of improving the health of the communities we serve.”
Throughout the past year, new programming and resources included: a ‘Mental Health First Aid’ class; ‘Art & Wellness: Find Your Center’ program offerings arts activities at all locations throughout the organization; the addition of a ‘We Care Personal Day’ for employees with at least 10 years of tenure; onsite shoe fittings; and the introduction of a new Employee Assistance Program Member Portal.
Earlier this year, Premier Health also was recognized in the 2022 Healthiest Employers of Ohio, placing third in the extra-large company category. This program honors people-first organizations that prioritize the well-being of their employees.
