Premier Health Restores Normal Visitation For Non-COVID Patients

Visitor Guidelines Relaxed Following Sharp Decline in COVID-19 Cases

DAYTON, Ohio (February 25, 2022) – Following a sharp decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations, Premier Health is resuming normal visitor guidelines for patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department settings who have not been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The relaxed guidelines are effective immediately. Masks continue to be required for hospital visitors. In addition, the following guidelines are now in place for hospitalized patients who test positive for COVID-19:

  • Patients who are positive for COVID-19 may have one (1) visitor at a time.
  • NICU infants who test positive for COVID-19 may have two (2) visitors at a time.
  • Patients who are positive for COVID-19 and who are in labor will be allowed two (2) support persons.

Premier Health hospitals include Atrium Medical Center, Miami Valley Hospital, Miami Valley Hospital North, Miami Valley Hospital South, and Upper Valley Medical Center.

We are grateful for the community’s ongoing understanding and cooperation in limiting the spread of COVID-19 to support our health system’s work force in delivering the best care possible. Please continue to take proven steps to reduce your chances of contracting or spreading COVID-19, including wearing a mask in public, practicing social distancing when possible, and receiving a COVID-19 vaccination or your COVID-19 booster.
