Vascular Services

You depend on the life-giving network of blood vessels – your vascular system – that carries blood to and from your heart. When this system of arteries, veins, and capillaries doesn’t function properly you can be at risk of serious damage to your heart, kidneys, brain, and legs.

Vascular services provided by Premier Health’s team of board-certified specialists offer the experience and technology you want when it comes to treating vascular conditions and diseases at Miami Valley Hospital and Atrium Medical Center. And assisting in your rehabilitation, when necessary, after treatment.

Advanced Technology to Treat Vascular Disease

At Premier Health, having advanced facilities and technologies available to provide you vascular services is a top priority.

Atrium Medical Center and Miami Valley Hospital offer a wide range of testing, treatments, interventions, and minimally invasive procedures and surgeries for vascular disorders, such as:

Vascular Testing And Diagnostics

We offer the following technologies and tests to diagnose vascular disorders:

Region’s First Vascular Surgery Suite

Miami Valley Hospital is the first hospital in the region to open a dedicated endovascular suite for vascular surgery. The suite is equipped with specialized X-ray equipment, where minimally invasive vascular interventions and surgeries can be done.

Peripheral vascular procedures are performed to diagnose and treat vascular problems outside the heart and brain. These procedures are performed by specially trained and experienced cardiologists and surgeons.

Vascular surgery also is performed at Atrium Medical Center.

Vascular Rehabilitation

Miami Valley Hospital also is the first in the region to open an outpatient vascular rehabilitation program. This program uses supervised exercise and education to improve vascular health and help slow the progression of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), a common circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to arms and legs.

Symptoms, most notably leg pain when walking, are noticed from the reduced blood flow that can’t keep up with demand. PAD is also likely to be a sign of a more widespread accumulation of fatty deposits in your arteries, called atherosclerosis.
