Premier Health Announces New Freestanding Emergency Center in Miamisburg

MIAMISBURG, Ohio (Dec. 14, 2017) – Premier Health is pleased to announce it will break ground later this month for a new freestanding emergency center in Miamisburg. Miami Valley Hospital Austin Boulevard Emergency Center will provide fully-equipped, full-service, 24-hour emergency care with easy access from I-75.

"We are looking forward to serving Miamisburg and surrounding communities with high quality emergency care and access to the region's only Level I trauma center at Miami Valley Hospital," said Mary Boosalis, president and CEO, Premier Health. "The optimal health of those in our community is at the center of everything we do, and we remain committed to providing access to emergency and preventive care to patients when they need it, where they need it."

"The same experienced emergency team that staffs all Miami Valley Hospital emergency departments will be supported at the new emergency center with advanced equipment and an integrated connection to all specialty services provided within the Premier Health system. Miami Valley Hospital Austin Boulevard Emergency Center will provide a rapid access point for those times when every minute counts," said Darin Pangalangan, MD, chair of the Premier Health Emergency and Trauma Institute.

Miami Valley Hospital Austin Boulevard Emergency Center will include eleven emergency beds, including two trauma bays. The emergency center will be staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians from Miami Valley Hospital, the location of Dayton's only Level I Trauma Center.

The new emergency center will link to Premier Health's TeleStroke Network, a patient-focused technology that connects stroke specialists via computer to providers at the point of care.

Miami Valley Hospital Austin Boulevard Emergency Center will have imaging technology including CT scans and X-ray, lab services, and CareFlight Air and Mobile Services transportation for patients who need hospitalization. The new emergency center is expected to open to the community in September, 2018.
