Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Services at Atrium celebrates one year anniversary

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (August 19, 2016) – With advanced equipment and specialized wound care, the Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Services at Atrium opened one year ago to take a leading role battling a growing health care crisis.

Chronic wounds affect millions of people in the U.S. The rising incidence of chronic wounds can also be correlated to obesity, vascular disease, an aging population and radiation treatment side-effects which are often underlying causes.

“The Wound Care Center at Atrium has been good for our community and saves our patients a drive to Dayton or Cincinnati,” said Dr. Daniel Butler, medical co-director of the Atrium Wound Care Center. “I am truly proud to be a small part of a strong team that is very dedicated to our community by providing quality wound care.”

Wound Care and Hyperbaric Services at Atrium has provided specialized care for Middletown and surrounding communities since August 2015. Advanced treatments available at the Center include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a non-invasive procedure and may be used to treat wounds related to more than one dozen conditions including diabetic foot ulcers, radiation injuries to tissue and bone, necrotizing infections, compromised skin grafts and skin flaps, and some types of arterial insufficiency and ischemia.

For more information on the treatment of chronic wounds, contact the Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Services at Atrium at 200 Medical Center Drive, Middletown, OH 45005; or by phone at (513) 420-5700(513) 420-5700
