School Nurse Program
Premier Health school nurses provide care for children and young adults in Southwest Ohio. Our school nurse program provides reliable, quality care during the school day, as well as preventive screenings, student/staff education and professional development. We also offer school nurse consulting services to help align your district with state requirements.
Reliable, Quality Health Care
On a schedule that can be customized to fit your school’s needs, our nurses can:
- Address special medical needs including diabetes, feeding tubes and medications
- Visit multiple buildings in the same day
- Provide care on a per-visit fee when you have short-term staffing needs
- Collaborate with your in-school nurse during hectic periods
- Provide substitute care when your nurse is absent
School Nurse Consulting Services
Our licensed school nurse is available to school districts to provide a wide variety of services. We offer:
- Licensed school nursing consultation and mentoring, including on-site visits
- Leadership for the provision of health services
- Assessment of the overall system of care to ensure health needs are met
- Consultation meetings with the district-hired nurses, director of student services, and the superintendent, focused on school health services
- Oversight of required medical reporting, including immunizations, to the Ohio Department of Health
- Assistance with policy and procedure development
- Creation of individual health plans and emergency action plans in conjunction with 504 plans and IEPs
- Oversight of HB296 and HB39 requirements
