Atrium Medical Center and Atrium Family YMCA partner for American Diabetes Association Alert Day®.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (March 23, 2018) - One in three American adults is at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes, a serious disease that can lead to complications such as kidney failure, heart disease, stroke, blindness, and amputations, according to American Diabetes Association. But Type 2 diabetes doesn’t have to be permanent—it can be prevented or delayed with healthy lifestyle modifications. The first step is learning your risk.

That’s why this year Atrium Medical Center and Atrium Family YMCA are partnering to participate in American Diabetes Association Alert Day®. On Tuesday, March 27, join Atrium Medical Center’s Diabetes Wellness Center and Atrium Family YMCA to learn more about diabetes prevention and services. Free blood sugar screenings will be offered from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, Tuesday at Atrium Family YMCA. The YMCA is located on the campus of Atrium Medical Center at 5750 Innovation Drive, Middletown. No fasting is required.

Then learn more about the Diabetes Wellness Center and take the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Test from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Tuesday at Atrium Café, in the main lobby of Atrium Medical Center at One Medical Center Drive, Middletown.

You can also learn more about this disease, how to prevent it, and how to fight back to help transform your life at diabetes.org/alertday.
