CNSI has dedicated centers where our specialists treat a wide variety of neurologic conditions.

Brain Mapping Center

Brain mapping is a set of procedures used to study the anatomy and function of the brain using advances in digital imaging technology. Through non-invasive imaging, high-resolution images are collected, allowing the neuropsychologist to visualize specific functions of the brain. Mapping the brain is key to understanding its geography, anatomy and how each area functions. Mapping identifies areas of the brain that control speech, movement, memory, senses, etc.

Multiple Sclerosis Center

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune, demyelinating disease affecting the central nervous system. It occurs when the body’s immune system attacks the myelin sheath that surrounds nerve cells, interrupting signals to the brain and causing symptoms. There is no known cause or cure for MS, but is neither contagious nor fatal.

At the CNSI Multiple Sclerosis Center, our skilled, board-certified physicians and professional staff are specially trained in the diagnosis and treatment of MS. Our coordinated continuum of care is in place to ensure our patients receive the comprehensive treatment they need to manage this complex condition. We offer a wide spectrum of care that includes medications, support groups, education, assisted mobility care, and vocational, occupational, and physical therapies. At the Clinical Neuroscience Institute’s Multiple Sclerosis Center, our focus is on helping you maintain your independence and best wellness.

Neuromuscular Center

Neuromuscular conditions are disorders of the muscles or peripheral nervous system (not the central nervous system). Diseases like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS),  muscular dystrophy, and neuropathy affect the function of muscles and can cause discomfort and limit movement.

The specialist at the CNSI Neuromuscular Center diagnose and treat a wide range of these disorders. While there is no cure for these diseases, our skilled professionals are trained to treat the symptoms and provide supportive care.

Neuropsychology Center

At the Neuropsychology Lab at the Clinical Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Fadi M. Tayim, Principal Investigator, seeks to understand the complex neurocognitive processes resulting from various neurological illnesses. While many treatments exist for these illnesses, the course of disease progression often results in neurocognitive changes, marked by worsening memory, attention, executive functioning abilities, among others.

Dr. Tayim and the members of the CNSI Neuropsychology Lab use diagnostic assessment tools to understand the cognitive strengths and weaknesses of patients affected by neurological illness.

Stroke Center

When you have a stroke, you need highly skilled care as soon as possible. The CNSI stroke center has fellowship- trained and board-certified stroke doctors who can respond quickly through our Telestroke Network. This advanced telemedicine technology enables stroke specialists to interact with emergency teams and with patients through a two- way video terminal that can be wheeled right to your bedside. The Telestroke Network allows neurologists to; assess your condition, answer questions you or your family might have, and -in real time- help your on-site doctor determine whether you are a candidate for clot-dissolving medication or another form of acute stroke therapy to reverse or improve stroke outcomes.

CNSI also has a neurointerventional team available 24 hours a day who assist the stroke doctors in assessing patients for the need for surgical stroke procedures. In addition, our team can do intracranial (inside the skull) aneurysm repair and cerebral vascular procedures of all kinds.
