What You Need to Know

Use the information below to update your communication preferences, understand your notification options, and get answers to frequently asked questions.

Premier Health communicates with you through different channels, depending on the message, using the phone number and email address from your electronic medical record. These channels include:

  • Email
  • Text message (SMS)
  • Phone
  • Push (App) notifications (if you have a MyChart account)
  • Mail

With MyChart, you’re always in control and can change your preferences at any time. It’s easy to customize how and when you receive messages. You can:

  • Opt out at different levels:
    • Entire communication channel (email, text, phone, etc.)
    • Message category (appointments, messages, health, etc.)
    • Individual message type
  • View your text message opt-in status
  • Choose your preferred channel:
    • Open Advanced Settings within each message category to select how you’d like to receive notifications for individual message types.
  • Proxy notifications:
    • Turn on Update my preferences for communications I receive about others to use your notification settings for a proxy account. Switch to a different person's record to change only their settings.
  • Wait list offers:
    • Get notified when an earlier appointment opens up. You can turn these email, text, and app notifications off at any time.
    • You can opt in or out of wait list offers for specific appointments in the Visits section.

Receive important MyChart updates in your inbox, making it easy to stay informed and keep a record of account activity, messages, appointments, billing, and more.

  • Emails from Premier Health are sent from PremierHealth@MyChart.PremierHealth.com, Billing@MyChart.PremierHealth.com, or Account@MyChart.PremierHealth.com with a sender name of Premier Health.
  • Please don’t reply to email notifications or send emails to these email addresses as they are not monitored.
  • Certain email notifications are locked on because they contain important information related to your MyChart account, care, or security. These notifications will continue to be sent even if you opt out of email at the channel level.

Get timely updates delivered directly to your mobile device and take quick action when available. Certain text messages allow you to conveniently complete an action without signing in to MyChart.

Interactive Text Notification Capabilities

  • Confirm, cancel, or reschedule your appointments directly from your appointment confirmation texts.

Important Information About Text Notifications

  • To receive text messages, you must have a text-enabled phone number labeled as Mobile in your contact information.
  • Texts from Premier Health and affiliates come from 47031.
  • Text messages are sent between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week. Texts will not be sent after 8 p.m. unless they are triggered by an action you take, such as updating your contact information or resetting your password.
  • Certain text notifications are locked on because they contain important information related to your MyChart account, care, or security. These notifications will continue to be sent even if you opt out of text at the channel level.
  • Opting out of text notifications:
    • If you wish to opt out of receiving text messages, it’s important to do so by updating your communication preferences in MyChart—not by replying STOP to a recent text message, which will fully block text messages from 47031 at the mobile carrier level.
    • You can opt out of all text messages or individual text message types at any time in your MyChart communication preferences.
    • If you think you may have opted out at the carrier level, or you aren’t receiving text messages even though you have opted in, please text START to 47031.

If you don’t have a text-enabled phone or have opted out of receiving text messages from Premier Health, you can get automated phone appointment and surgery confirmations instead.

Interactive Phone Notification Capabilities

Confirm or cancel your appointment or opt out of phone notifications using the options menu if you answer the automated appointment confirmation phone call.

Important Information About Phone Notifications

  • Phone call notifications from Premier Health come from (866) 206-7211(866) 206-7211 and will display Premier Health as the caller ID.
  • Phone notifications are available for appointment and surgery confirmations, if you have opted out of text messages. Any other automated phone call you receive from Premier Health isn’t managed in your MyChart Communication Preferences.
  • Opting out of phone notifications:
    • You can opt out of all phone notifications or individual message types at any time in your MyChart Communication Preferences.
    • When you receive a phone appointment reminder, you can press option 8 to opt out of receiving future phone appointment reminders. This action will update your communication preferences.
    • If you don’t have a MyChart account, you can opt out of, or back in to, phone appointment reminders by calling (833) 804-3443(833) 804-3443 and leaving a message. The change will be made in your communication preferences within three business days.

Push notifications are messages sent by the MyChart app to your device to share updates, reminders, alerts, or other important information, even when the app is not open. They typically appear on your devices’ lock screens or notification center. You must have a MyChart account and the app installed on your device to receive push notifications.

While MyChart is the quickest and easiest way to manage your communication preferences, in addition to offering many other great features to manage your health, if you don’t have or want a MyChart account ask a caregiver to help you update your preferences when checking in at your next appointment with Premier Health.

Communication preferences are set at the patient level – not the phone number level. If a phone number is shared between patients, it will respect settings for that patient. But if one of the patients replies “STOP” to the carrier, it will stop ALL texts at the mobile carrier level and neither patient will receive texts.

Appointment reminder emails, texts, and automated phone calls will be sent no earlier than 10 a.m. daily. All other texts are sent seven days a week and on holidays starting at 8 a.m. No text will be sent after 8 p.m. unless it is from an action you have taken, such as updating your contact information or resetting your password.

Text and phone appointment reminders are sent seven days, three days, and one day before your appointment. If you confirm your appointment with the first reminder, you will not receive the reminder three days before your appointment, but you will receive a reminder the day before.

Yes. You can opt out of text message and phone call appointment reminders in your communication preferences in MyChart, but please note that these preferences apply to all Premier Health appointments with Premier Physician Network and hospital outpatient services.

If you don’t have a MyChart account:

  • Creating a MyChart account is easy and gives access to so much more than your communication preferences. Learn more about what MyChart has to offer or create a new account now. Changes made in MyChart are immediately in effect.
  • Call (833) 804-3443(833) 804-3443 and leave a message to opt out of phone appointment reminders. The change will be made within 3 business days.
  • When checking in at your next appointment with Premier Health, ask a caregiver to help you update your preferences or give you more information about how to update your preferences. Like MyChart, changes made to your preferences in your Epic record are in effect immediately.

Our system sends appointment reminders by either text OR phone, not both. If both text and phone notifications are turned on in your MyChart communication preferences, you will receive text reminders only.

To receive phone reminders instead, turn off text notifications for Appointment Reminders in the Appointments advanced settings section of your communication preferences.

We recently expanded our email and text message notifications to include over 20 new message options each. However, with MyChart, you’re always in control and can change your preferences at any time. Easily update your preferences by:

  • Communication channel (email, text, phone, etc.)
  • Message category (Appointments, Messages, Health, etc.)
  • Individual message type in advanced settings

If you aren't receiving text notifications from us, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. You replied STOP to a text message from Premier Health. This action opts you out of receiving messages at the mobile carrier level, and updating your communication preferences in MyChart will not help. Text START to 47031 to opt in again at the mobile carrier level. Then, you can use your communication preferences in MyChart to manage what text message types you do and do not want to receive.
  2. You do not have a mobile phone number listed in your contact information. You must have a text-enabled phone number, labeled as Mobile, in your contact information in MyChart to receive texts from Premier Health. It’s easy to update your contact information in MyChart. You have opted out of text messaging in your communication preferences. Check your communication preferences in MyChart to make sure you haven’t opted out of all text notifications.
  3. You have opted out of text messaging in your communication preferences. Check your communication preferences in MyChart to make sure you haven’t opted out of all text notifications.

Texting STOP to a text from Premier Health will opt you out of receiving any texts from our number at the mobile carrier level. Updating your communication preferences in MyChart will not help.

We recommend updating your communication preferences in MyChart rather than using the STOP method to opt out of receiving text messages from us.

To opt back in at the mobile carrier level, text START to 47031.
