Manage Your MyChart Communication Preferences

MyChart makes it easier than ever to stay connected—on your terms. Set your communication preferences by reviewing and updating your contact information, choosing how you receive messages, and managing notifications and reminders about your care, all in one place.

Manage Your Communication Preferences in MyChart*

* You will be prompted to log in before you are taken to your communication preferences page.

If you don’t have a MyChart account, default communication settings will apply.

New Communication Features

Beginning February 10, 2026, our new text message and phone features will give you more convenient and interactive ways to manage upcoming appointments and important updates. The best part? Your preferences are still secure and always up to you.

  • More than 20 new text message options
  • Interactive appointment confirmation texts: confirm, cancel, or reschedule your appointment directly from the text message
  • Interactive phone calls: if you answer the call, you can confirm or cancel your appointment.

To receive text messages, you must have a text-enabled phone number labeled as Mobile in your contact information.

What You Can Expect

  • Texts from Premier Health and affiliates come from a new number: 47031.
  • Phone calls from Premier Health come from (866) 206-7211(866) 668-0592, (866) 272-5641, or (866) 274-9293. Each number will display Premier Health as the caller ID.
  • Your opted in or opted out status is not affected by this change. If you have already opted in to receive text messages, you’ll stay opted in.
  • Your communication preferences are still always in your control and can be managed any time in MyChart.

How To Opt Out of Text Messages

If you wish to opt out of receiving text messages, it’s important to do so by updating your communication preferences in MyChart—not by replying STOP to a recent text message, which will fully block text messages from 47031 at the mobile carrier level.

You can opt out of all text messages or individual text message types at any time in your MyChart communication preferences.

If you think you may have opted out at the carrier level, or you aren’t receiving text messages even though you have opted in, please text START to 47031.

Setting Your Communication Preferences

Premier Health communicates with you through different channels, depending on the message, using the phone number and email address from your electronic medical record. These channels include:

  • Email
  • Text message (SMS)
  • Push or app notifications (if you have a MyChart account)
  • Phone
  • Mail

With MyChart, you’re always in control and can change your preferences at any time. It’s easy to customize how and when you receive messages:

  • Opt out at different levels:
    • Entire communication channel (email, text, phone, etc.)
    • Message category (appointments, messages, health, etc.)
    • Individual message type
  • View your text message opt-in status
  • Opt out of all text messages:
    • Toggle the text message channel type to off, or
    • Click the Opt Out link and then Save. This will remove the channel from the channel listing.
  • Choose your preferred channel:
    • Open Advanced Settings within each message category to select how you’d like to receive notifications.

Additional Features

Proxy Notifications

If you have proxy access to another person’s MyChart account, you can apply your preferences to the communications you receive on their behalf by making sure the Update my preferences for communications I receive about others checkbox is checked. If you have proxy access to more than one person and would like to change how you receive communications for only one person, switch to their record to make updates there.

Opt In to Wait List Offers

The appointment Wait List feature helps you get seen sooner. When turned on, you’ll receive offers if an earlier appointment becomes available. You are automatically opted in to receive wait list notifications by email, text, and push/app notifications, but you can easily opt out of the wait list at any time.

Appointment Status Updates

In your MyChart communication preferences, you can also choose when and how you’re notified about changes to your appointment status, such as cancellations or rescheduling.

Updating Communication Preferences without a MyChart Account

While MyChart is the quickest and easiest way to manage your communication preferences, in addition to offering many great features to manage your health, there are ways to update your preferences outside of MyChart.

  1. When checking in at your next appointment with Premier Health, ask a caregiver to help you update your preferences.
  2. When you receive a phone appointment reminder, you can press option 8 to opt out of future phone appointment reminders. This action will update your MyChart communication preferences.
  3. To opt out of, or back in to, phone appointment reminders, call (833) 804-3443(833) 804-3443 and leave a message. The change will be made within 3 business days.

Communication preferences are set at the patient level – not the phone number level. If a phone number is shared between patients, it will respect settings for that patient. But if one of the patients replies “STOP” to the carrier, it will stop ALL texts at the mobile carrier level and neither patient will receive texts.

All text notifications, including appointment reminders, are sent, and phone reminder calls are made, at 8 a.m. Texts are sent seven days a week and on holidays. No text will be sent after 8 p.m. unless it is from an action you have taken, such as updating your contact information or resetting your password.

Email and app notifications are sent in real-time.

Text and phone appointment reminders are sent seven days, three days, and one day before your appointment. If you confirm your appointment with the first reminder, you will not receive the reminder three days before your appointment, but you will receive a reminder the day before.

Yes. You can opt out of text message and phone call appointment reminders in your communication preferences in MyChart, but please note that these preferences apply to all Premier Health appointments with Premier Physician Network and hospital outpatient services.

If you don’t have a MyChart account:

  • Creating a MyChart account is easy and gives access to so much more than your communication preferences. Learn more about what MyChart has to offer or create a new account now. Changes made in MyChart are immediately in effect.
  • Call (833) 804-3443(833) 804-3443 and leave a message to opt out of phone appointment reminders. The change will be made within 3 business days.
  • When checking in at your next appointment with Premier Health, ask a caregiver to help you update your preferences or give you more information about how to update your preferences. Like MyChart, changes made to your preferences in your Epic record are in effect immediately.

Our system sends appointment reminders by either text OR phone, not both. If both text and phone notifications are turned on in your MyChart communication preferences, you will receive text reminders only.

To receive phone reminders instead, turn off text notifications for Appointment Reminders in the Appointments advanced settings section of your communication preferences.

We recently expanded our text message notifications to include over 20 new message options. However, with MyChart, you’re always in control and can change your preferences at any time. Easily update your preferences by:

  • Communication channel (email, text, phone, etc.)
  • Message category (Appointments, Messages, Health, etc.)
  • Individual message type in advanced settings

If you aren't receiving text notifications from us, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. You replied STOP to a text message from Premier Health. This action opts you out of receiving messages at the mobile carrier level, and updating your communication preferences in MyChart will not help. Text START to 47031 to opt in again at the mobile carrier level. Then, you can use your communication preferences in MyChart to manage what text message types you do and do not want to receive.
  2. You do not have a mobile phone number listed in your contact information. You must have a text-enabled phone number, labeled as Mobile, in your contact information in MyChart to receive texts from Premier Health. It’s easy to update your contact information in MyChart. You have opted out of text messaging in your communication preferences. Check your communication preferences in MyChart to make sure you haven’t opted out of all text notifications.
  3. You have opted out of text messaging in your communication preferences. Check your communication preferences in MyChart to make sure you haven’t opted out of all text notifications.

Texting STOP to a text from Premier Health will opt you out of receiving any texts from our number at the mobile carrier level. Updating your communication preferences in MyChart will not help.

We recommend updating your communication preferences in MyChart rather than using the STOP method to opt out of receiving text messages from us.

To opt back in at the mobile carrier level, text START to 47031.
