Jacob B. Gibson, DO

I'm a new patient to Dr. Gibson but I felt like he was concerned and very thorough. He communicated the plan of wellness with me and the reason why he ordered additional testing for me.

There was only ONE receptionist to check in, but she was tied up with a difficult 'entitled' patient so the wait was 5 minutes or so. IMHO too long. All else was very good.

Everyone at Dr. Gibsons office is always ready to help with anything I need. Dr Gibson is a very good doctor.

The staff are friendly, efficient, and appear to enjoy their jobs. Dr. Gibson is very competent and not the least bit arrogant. Some doctors emphasize the negative stuff--much of which isn't that important. Dr. Gibson emphasizes the positives. I'm fortunate in that I'm probably one of his healthier patients. Nevertheless, I always feel better on the way out of his office than on the way in, because of the care and reassurance that I get.

People look for a provider who takes care of themselves so they know they can then be taken care of by an experienced doctor. I was mostly pleased.

Text messages regarding masking were mis-stated. Posted signs about part of the practice moving were not clear and partially hidden at the front desk. Receptionist was very defensive when I shared my confusion about which doctors were leaving.

It has been a real eye opener on a cardiologist, The staff very welcoming and helpful. The Dr. had taken the time to look over all my surgery work, hospital work, stress test etc. All for a second opinion. The Dr communicated everything. Dr. Gibson wanted to see me in 6 months but my appointment is 7 months because they said that was the first appointment he had. It is a routine visit but disappointing that he was already booked that far out.

First visit to this facility and Dr. Gibson. Everything was done with professionalism.

Dr.Gibson is a fantastic cardiologist and I would highly recommend him. He is very caring and explains everything to where you can understand them.

If a goal of care is to be "patient-centered" it would then be appropriate to point out to the patient where to sit in order to actually "see the doctor" instead on being beside the physician who was checking things on a computer "beside" the patient. Patients who have face-to-face experience may be more satisfied.

I was unable to secure an earlier appointment. I had to wait for 2 months to get this one. Now I must wait for 2 more months to get an Echo, prior to hernia surgery. Not the Doctors fault, I assume. Busy times for Senior citizens, I guess. Time marches on.

Dr Gibson treated my husband years ago and I knew from that experience if I needed a cardiologist I wanted to see him. It was the right choice! He explained my condition, outlined the options and we agreed on a non-invasive test and medicines before considering surgery. I like his manner and professionalism - he is knowledgeable but didn't talk down to us. I have already referred others in the family to him.

This was my first visit to Dr Gibson's office. I found Dr Gibson to be professional, courteous and kind. Dr Gibson seems to be an outstanding physician but since this is my first visit it's difficult to thoroughly make an opinion.

Location is very convenient (Vandalia Office). Got appointment right away (apparently due to last minute cancellation) but this was very comforting to me as recent stress test revealed I had apparently suffered a previous heart attack. Dr Gibson was very personable and easy to converse with; answered all my questions, listened to me, was responsive, to my comments/ questions and clearly explained treatment plan to me. I feel as though I am in good hands. I have already referred another individual to his practice and their appointment has already been scheduled.
