Support Programs and Events

Atrium Medical Center regularly provides educational programs and workshops in the community that focus on perinatal loss and bereavement, as well as infant mortality reduction and safe sleep. In addition to the HEALing Together Support Groups, we provide programs for faith communities, lay ministry teams, nonprofit organizations, support groups, schools, professional organizations, and other groups.

HEAL Family Festival

Bereaved families whose children die seldom allow themselves the opportunity for a little joy and pleasure in life. This family outing is meant to do just that. Families can take part in a carnival atmosphere for all ages, with games, activities, entertainment, and food. Contact us for date and time information, and to obtain a Steps 4 HEALing registration form.

Walk to Remember

Each October, the HEAL Program invites anyone who has been touched by the death of a child, regardless of age or circumstance, to the Walk to Remember, which includes a memorial reading of names at the HEAL Memory Garden.

Although we cannot meet in person due to COVID-19, we will share a virtual ceremony and reading of names on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020.

Atrium employees will be painting colorful kindness rocks that will be displayed in the HEAL Garden on Oct. 15 for a special virtual reading of names. Each name read aloud will appear on its own kindness rock.

Visit to submit a name for the virtual reading of names and to be included on a kindness rock.

We also invite you to walk the hospital’s Turner Trail and visit the HEAL Memory Garden during the month of October. The HEAL Memory Garden, located along the walking trail on the east side of the hospital, is a quiet place where families can go to remember and celebrate the lives of children who have left us far too soon. It features the Angel of Hope monument, a nationally recognized symbol of hope and healing.
