I’m pleased to share that Dr. James Dunlap has stepped into the role of vice president, Premier Physician Network system operations and service line – orthopedics, effective October 6.

Dr. Dunlap brings a wealth of clinical and operational expertise to this position. A former U.S. Air Force physician, he served more than a decade in leadership roles, including department chair of neurosurgery, orthopedics, and podiatry, as well as division chief of neurosurgery/orthopedic spine. Since joining Premier Orthopedics, he has continued to demonstrate exceptional leadership while helping drive key system initiatives in the northern market.

With a deep commitment to both medicine and management, Dr. Dunlap earned his medical degree from Georgetown University, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas, and pursued a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also holds an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and graduated summa cum laude in biochemistry from the U.S. Air Force Academy.

In his new role, Dr. Dunlap will lead system operations and strategic growth for orthopedic services across Premier Health, collaborating closely with hospital and practice leaders to enhance quality, efficiency, and patient access.
