What is your clinical specialty? Cardiothoracic Surgery

Where did you go to school?
The Ohio State University (Undergrad/med school), University of Louisville (general surgery), Mayo Clinic (CT surgery fellowship), Washington University (Heart failure fellowship)

What brought you to Premier Health?
My husband and I were both exploring new career opportunities when he interviewed at The Christ Hospital and learned that Premier Health was seeking a cardiothoracic surgeon. I interviewed shortly afterward and immediately felt that this was an incredible opportunity!

Why did you choose medicine as a career?
My dad had cystic fibrosis and had a lung transplant which inspired me to become a thoracic transplant surgeon.  I discovered my love for adult cardiac surgery along the way!

Who are the people who influenced and/or mentored you?
My attendings at Mayo and WashU

What is one thing most people don't know about you?
When I’m not at work, I’m very active in training for rock climbing.

Where is your hometown?
Cleveland, OH

What, if any, sports team(s) do you cheer for?
Buckeyes!

What is your favorite food?
Cheese

What is your favorite hobby?
Rock climbing

What is your favorite animal, and why?
Polar bear, I have always liked them since childhood. 

Where is your favorite vacation spot, and why?
Anywhere in the mountains!

Describe something (a thing, person, place, experience, etc.) for which you are especially thankful:
I am thankful for my supportive husband, parents, and sister and for my three daughters!
