Celebrating Wound Healing Awareness Month
By Melissa Dillard, application analyst, Fidelity Health Care
June is Wound Healing Awareness Month, a time to recognize the millions of people living with the challenges of chronic wounds, like diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and pressure ulcers, and to honor the professionals who care for them. Their valuable service helps prevent complications such as infections, hospitalizations, amputations, and poor quality of life.
At Fidelity Health Care, we’re proud to have the largest team of WCEI-certified wound nurses in the area, with the expertise to make recommendations and provide care that reduces healing time and improves patient outcomes. Our nurses not only help those living with chronic wounds, but they also provide care for those with skin issues, post-operative/surgical wounds and incisions, traumatic wounds and burns, and ostomy and fistula patients.
Wound care services can provide patient and caregiver education and support, treatment recommendations, nutritional assessments, assistance with obtaining supplies, coordination with physicians, improved patient monitoring and outcomes, ostomy and fistula education and care, negative pressure wound therapy and support for overall patient care.
This month, we recognize our nurses for the vital role they play in patient healing. Thank you for your dedication!
