Which gynecologic cancer has the highest recurrence rate?

Our most troublesome cancers, intuitively, are the ones that are highest stage when they occur. In our specialty, that ends up being patients with ovary cancer. The average patient is diagnosed at what's called stage three where the cancer has left the ovary and gone to other places in the abdomen and pelvis. Those cancers once they've left the area where they started are harder to get back under control. Those are our patients who have the highest risk for recurrence at a later date.
