How does having the annual wellness visit help providers deliver care to patients?

The main purpose of the annual wellness visit is to look beyond your current existing problems that you may have, and really try to make a strategy to prevent things that otherwise might be coming your way. The main benefit is to get ahead of the game, so to speak. To look beyond today and really focus on, what are the common things that might be coming my way that I have an opportunity to help prevent? So, can I help prevent a particular pneumonia by getting a pneumonia shot? Or, can I prevent flu by updating my influenza shot, or any other appropriate vaccine? Cancer screening, which ones are appropriate to me and my particular background that would make sense that I can get ahead of? And then also, really taking a deep dive into what are my social circumstances, what are my problems just getting through my day? Do I have other functional limitations, or am I starting to notice cognitive problems or urinary problems that really may set me up for future difficulties that might benefit from early engagement with my physician?
