COVID-19 Testing for People with Current Symptoms

If you have current COVID-19 symptoms and a physician order for a COVID-19 test, you can bring the order with you to receive a test at UD Arena (patients whose physicians ordered the test in Epic do not need to have a copy of the order at the time of the test). At the check-in area, you will be screened for a fever and other symptoms consistent with COVID-19. A caregiver will swab the back of your nose for this test.

Things to remember:

  • You must have a physician’s order for this test.
  • You must have current symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
  • Patients without symptoms might not be tested, even if they have a physician’s order.

To ensure an orderly process, it is vitally important that those who have symptoms that are consistent with the COVID-19 virus first contact their family physician or primary care provider and work with their provider’s office to see if they meet certain criteria before they come to the collection site. If you do not have a physician’s order, you will not be screened.

Hours of Operation

  • Monday - Friday: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (subject to change)
  • Closed Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2020

The test can be ordered by physicians or an authorized health care provider. It is highly recommended that providers follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s protocol for determining whether testing for the novel coronavirus is needed for a particular patient.

CompuNet will collect and forward specimens as appropriate to its reference laboratory, Quest Diagnostics, for COVID-19 testing. Results are available in MyChart (for patients whose physician ordered the test in Epic) or through CompuNet’s patient portal, My Labs Now.
