The following are informational updates from across Premier Health that you might find of interest:

Foundations

Atrium Medical Center recently hosted its annual HEAL Walk to Remember. The walk began at the Atrium YMCA and concluded at the HEAL Memorial Garden, honoring families who have experienced the loss of a child. For 28 years, the HEAL (Help Endure a Loss) program has provided compassionate support and resources to bereaved families. These services are offered at no cost through support from the Atrium Medical Center Foundation.

The Upper Valley Medical Center Foundation hosted its annual Golf Classic at Piqua Country Club. Proceeds from the 2026 tournament will support the expansion of the Cancer Care Center at Upper Valley Medical Center.

The Miami Valley Hospital Foundation received support from Wagner Subaru, which donated blankets and handwritten messages for oncology patients at Miami Valley Hospital South.

The Good Samaritan Foundation–Dayton hosted the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Luncheon at Miami Valley Hospital North, highlighting the outstanding work taking place at the hospital. Speakers also shared updates on current foundation initiatives, including oncology services, new echocardiogram equipment, and education and training programs.

Partnerships

Premier Health sponsored, and Miami Valley Hospital South hosted, the Epilepsy Foundation's Dayton Walk on June 7, bringing together patients, families, caregivers, and advocates to raise awareness and support for those living with epilepsy. Premier Health's neuroscience team shared educational resources, and Dr. Brian Ludwig delivered opening remarks. The partnership strengthened community connections while increasing awareness of neurological health and available local resources.

In collaboration with the Miami County Educational Service Center, educators from across Miami County were invited to Upper Valley Medical Center for an immersive Educators Day experience. Participants engaged in hands-on simulations in the Emergency Department and Rehabilitation Department. The initiative enhanced educators' understanding of real-world health care skills while providing insights they can incorporate into classroom instruction.

For the fourth consecutive year, Premier Health and Wright State University partnered to host a nursing and health care professions camp. The four-day program provided high school students from across the region with hands-on learning experiences and exposure to careers in health care.

Community Relations

Premier Health participated in the Lebanon Healthy Living Market on June 7, providing free health screenings and wellness information to community members. The event helped make preventive services and health education more accessible while encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Premier Health hosted a Cancer Survivors Day celebration on June 13 at Miami Valley Hospital South, recognizing the resilience of cancer survivors and their families. Educational sessions, community resources, and presentations focused on life after treatment provided support to help survivors thrive beyond their cancer journey.
