System News: Email Consolidation, Health Fairs, Educational Partnership

Workforce Development

Digital Health & Technology (DHT) is working to simplify and reduce our email system’s digital footprint by consolidating Premier Health email and ending the use of legacy email domains: @mvh.org, @atriummedcenter.org, @uvmc.org, @gshdayton.org, @shp-dayton.org, and premierhealthpartners.org.

DHT has created a tool to help you identify whether you are receiving any emails to these legacy domains. You may have already seen a banner at the top of your email asking you to advise the sender to use @premierhealth.com going forward. Please do so as soon as possible to avoid missing any emails in the future once the legacy domains are phased out.

Partnerships

Miami Valley Hospital Foundation received a $25,000 grant through AbbVie Independent Education to support a new UCNS-certified headache medicine fellowship at Miami Valley Hospital. Offered in partnership with Wright State University and Premier Health’s Clinical Neuroscience Institute, the program addresses the national shortage of headache specialists and aims to improve care for more than 40 million Americans living with headache disorders. Fellows will receive advanced training in diagnosis, treatment, and multidisciplinary care, thereby enhancing their clinical expertise, research, and patient outcomes in headache medicine.

The onMain project continues to see a great deal of action.  Final plans and renderings for the new Digital Transformation Center were submitted and approved by the City of Dayton Plan Board. Infrastructure work on water and sewage began onsite in June, with the Roundhouse work continuing. Scheduling issues forced the team to pivot on the Groundbreaking event; this is now tentatively scheduled in late September.

Premier Health Foundations

Good Samaritan Foundation-Dayton opened the new Good Samaritan Chapel Patio at Miami Valley Hospital North, marking the second phase of the foundation’s $1 million chapel project. The patio features meaningful pieces of history from the former Good Samaritan Hospital. The limestone arches with angels, preserved corbels and other original elements from the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Chapel reflect the legacy of the Good Samaritan.

Community Relations

Mike Riordan, president and chief executive officer for Premier Health, joined CEO’s from Kettering Health and Dayton Children’s on a “Future of Healthcare” panel at a luncheon hosted by the Dayton Business Journal.

Atrium Medical Center and Premier Community Health participated in the Lebanon Healthy Living Market, providing free health screenings and educational resources.

Atrium Medical Center also hosted a senior health and wellness event, offering free screenings and information on available services. The event supported healthy aging and empowered older adults to take an active role in managing their health.

In celebration of National Cancer Survivors Month, Premier Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Center at Miami Valley Hospital South hosted a free event for survivors, caregivers and families. Attendees connected with others and learned about support services available through Premier Health, highlighting the organization’s commitment to whole-person care beyond treatment.

Jordan Hodges, the new village administrator of Covington, toured Upper Valley Medical Center and met with hospital leadership to learn more about the hospital’s services.
