Support Mental Health Awareness at NAMIWalks Montgomery County

By Amanda Hartzell, director of operations, behavioral health, Premier Physicians Network

After participating in the African American Wellness Walk, caregivers can continue the morning's focus on health and wellness by joining NAMIWalks Montgomery County on Sept. 12 at RiverScape MetroPark.

The annual event brings together community members, advocates, patients, families and health care professionals to raise awareness about mental health and support access to quality mental health resources. Participants can choose from one-mile or three-mile walking routes and visit community resource tables throughout the event.

Premier Health's outpatient behavioral health team and the Wright State University Psychiatry Residency Program will participate as the WSU/Premier Psychiatry Team, demonstrating a shared commitment to mental health advocacy and community engagement.

Whether you walk, volunteer or make a donation, NAMIWalks offers an opportunity to promote wellness, reduce stigma and support individuals and families affected by mental illness.
