As the fall sports season concludes, Premier Health’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team celebrates another year of keeping athletes healthy, safe, and performing at their best. Across local high schools, colleges, and community events, our Athletic Trainers (ATs) and Sports Medicine physicians are a constant presence—providing expert care when it matters most.

These partnerships strengthen community trust and promote wellness, safety, and education for student-athletes and families. Our ATs and physicians build relationships with coaches, athletes, and parents, manage injuries and rehabilitation, and provide ongoing guidance on injury prevention and performance. While much of their work is behind the scenes, its impact is visible every game day.

When injuries occur, ATs are often the first responders, using quick thinking and emergency management skills to stabilize athletes and prevent complications. In collaboration with our physicians, they exemplify Premier Health’s commitment to deliver exceptional care—on the field as well as in our clinics.

Spotlight Stories:

  • Ashley Moman, AT, managed an open tibia/fibula fracture during a Friday night football game, keeping the athlete calm and stabilized until EMS arrived.
  • The team, including Jordan Grilliot, DO, Samantha Twining, AT, and Camila Zamorano Restrepo, AT, stabilized a tibia/fibula fracture and transferred the athlete safely to Miami Valley Hospital for trauma care.
  • Katie Krebs, MD, and Garrett Boyce, AT, managed a dislocated elbow and medial collateral ligament injury, ensuring both athletes returned to play quickly through immediate assessment and streamlined follow-up.

Premier Health is proud of our Sports Medicine team for their expertise, compassion, and teamwork, raising the standard of care for athletes and the community, both on and off the field.
