Premier Health Opens Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic
By Kelli Ashbeck, director of surgical services and orthopedics, Premier Health
We are pleased to share an exciting addition to Premier Health’s comprehensive orthopedic care services: the launch of our Orthopedics Walk-In Clinic.
This new clinic was designed with one primary goal in mind: to increase access and convenience for patients with acute orthopedic needs. Whether it’s a sudden sports injury, joint sprain, or minor fracture, patients now have a same-day option for expert orthopedic evaluation and care, without needing to visit the Emergency Department or wait for a scheduled appointment.
What You Need to Know:
Walk-In Convenience, Specialized Care: Staffed by experienced orthopedic providers, the Walk-In Clinic is equipped to treat non-life-threatening injuries and musculoskeletal concerns that require timely attention. The clinic is located at Miami Valley Hospital North, 9000 N. Main Street, Suite 227 and is available five days a week. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon. These services are available for patients aged 12 and above.
Part of a Full Spectrum of Orthopedic Services:
- Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic: For urgent but non-emergency issues.
- Emergency Department: For severe trauma or injuries requiring immediate, critical intervention.
Not for Follow-Up Care: It’s important to note that the Walk-In Clinic is not intended for post-operative or follow-up care. Those visits should continue to be managed through our standard scheduling process to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
Lastly, please be aware that the Orthopedic Walk-in Clinic shouldn’t be used for referrals. For example, if a patient with a shoulder issue was seen in a primary care office, they should be referred to orthopedics and then sent to the walk-in clinic.
This expansion reflects our commitment to accessible, high-quality musculoskeletal care across the entire patient journey. We’re proud to provide patients with more ways to connect to the right level of care at the right time.
