MyChart Bedside builds on the MyChart platform already used by many patients in outpatient settings. The inpatient tool provides hospitalized patients with access to key information about their care, helping them better understand their treatment and take a more active role in care decisions.

Patients can use MyChart Bedside to view portions of their care plan, access educational materials, review medications, identify members of their care team, and stay informed throughout their stay. The tool is intended to improve transparency, support communication, and reinforce patient participation in care.

For clinical teams, MyChart Bedside provides an additional resource to support patient education and engagement. Access to real-time information and educational content helps patients better prepare for discussions about treatment, discharge planning, and follow-up care.

Implementation began in October 2025 through a phased rollout across inpatient units. Since launch, the system has recorded 6,134 active admissions using MyChart Bedside, 336 proxy invitations sent, and 1,401 interruptions avoided. Education engagement reached 81 percent, resulting in an estimated 562 hours of nursing time saved.

As of June, MyChart Bedside is also available in Premier Health emergency departments, further expanding digital access across care settings.

The tool supports Premier Health’s Digital Front Door strategy by creating a more connected experience across the continuum of care. Patients who engage with digital tools during hospitalization are more likely to continue using MyChart after discharge for appointments, test results, messaging, and care coordination.

MyChart Bedside reflects Premier Health’s ongoing commitment to leveraging digital innovation to improve access, engagement, and outcomes while enhancing a more connected, patient-centered care experience.
