GI Fellowship Continues National Academic Recognition

One of the hallmarks of a premier graduate medical education program is a strong commitment to scholarly activity, and our Gastroenterology Fellowship continues to set the standard.

I am proud to share that the fellowship has achieved an exceptional milestone for the upcoming American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Annual Scientific Meeting in Nashville this October. Through the collaborative efforts of faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students, 23 abstracts have been accepted for presentation at this prestigious national conference.

This level of academic productivity is remarkable. For many training programs, having even a handful of abstracts accepted at a national meeting is a significant accomplishment. To have 23 accepted presentations speaks to the strength of our research culture, the dedication of our learners, and the outstanding mentorship provided by our faculty.

Under the leadership of Sangeeta Agrawal, MD, Program Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship, the program continues to build on a long tradition of academic excellence. The fellowship, which is part of the Department of Internal Medicine chaired by Deepak Agrawal, MD, consistently creates opportunities for trainees to contribute meaningful research and advance knowledge in the field of gastroenterology.

These presentations showcase the breadth of research taking place across our institution and reflect the strong academic partnership between Wright State University and Premier Health. Congratulations to Dr. Agrawal, the GI faculty, fellows, residents, and students on this outstanding achievement and their continued contributions to education, research, and patient care.
