What brought you to Premier Health? I first came to Premier Health in 2011. I felt that Premier Health’s Administration cared about me and was responsive to my needs and the needs of our practice. I truly liked and respected my practice partners. I was excited to be part of the new Cardiothoracic program at the time. It was a fresh and very good opportunity for me.
Why did you choose medicine as a career? I am interested in the science of medicine. I also enjoy the personal interactions that I have with patients and the ability to directly influence their lives and health in positive ways.
Who are the people who influenced and/or mentored you? From a medical perspective, Ross DiMarco, M.D., Robert Keenan, M.D., George Magovern, M.D.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you? Even though my father was from the Czech Republic, I have never travelled to Europe or any European country.
Where is your hometown? Laguna Hills, CA
What, if any, sports team(s) do you cheer for? Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, Dayton Dragons
What is the last book you read? “Atlas of Endoscopic Major Pulmonary Resections” by Dominique Gossot
What is your favorite song in your playlist? I don’t have a favorite song. I have very broad musical tastes. The only genres of music I don’t listen to often are classical and country music.
What is your favorite food? Japanese A5 Wagyu Beef and an honorable mention of hot wings.
What is your favorite hobby? Driving sports cars at a very spirited pace.
What is your favorite animal, and why? Sharks are very mysterious and interesting.
Where is your favorite vacation spot, and why? Hawaii. Perfect weather, delicious foods, beautiful beaches and the ocean.
Describe something (a thing, person, place, experience, etc.) for which you are especially thankful: I am thankful for everything in my life, including all people, places and experiences. They all have led me to where I am today. I am especially thankful for my wife and children, who have always loved and supported me 100%.
