Clinical Spotlight: Lily D. Chatman, CNM

Premier Pulse     May 2025

Meet Lily, a Passionate Advocate for Women's Health

What is your clinical specialty? Obstetrics and Women's Health

Where did you go to school? I received my master's in nursing at the University of Cincinnati.

What brought you to Premier Health? I was actually a patient at the Center for Women’s Health and Wellness while pregnant with my first child. The care I received was so outstanding and reflected my desire to practice as a midwife, so I jumped at the opportunity to apply when a CNM position opened up.

Why did you choose medicine as a career? I wanted to allow women to learn about their bodies and feel partnered in their care. My favorite part of my day is sharing knowledge, exchanging information, and supporting my patients.

Who are the people who influenced and/or mentored you? I’ve had the pleasure of working with several midwives throughout the Cincinnati area. They have each taught me something new that I could bring to my practice.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you? I have a huge fear of heights.

Where is your hometown? I am originally from a northern suburb of Chicago, Illinois.

What, if any, sports team(s) do you cheer for? Growing up in a house of all girls, besides my dad, sports was not something we watched often.  I would say I didn't gravitate towards a team till my adult years while living in Cincinnati. So I love to watch the Bengals and Cincinnati Reds.

What is the last book you read? My son loves “The Little Blue Truck” series. So those are read on repeat every night.

What is your favorite song in your playlist? “Love in an Elevator,” by Aerosmith

What is your favorite food? Anything Asian inspired.

What is your favorite hobby? I love to run.

What is your favorite animal, and why? Going domestic here, I love dogs.

Where is your favorite vacation spot, and why? I’m a sucker for a warm tropical place. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, is one of my favorite places to visit.

Describe something (a thing, person, place, experience, etc.) for which you are especially thankful: I just recently had a birthday, and we just had our second child. Both these events have made me very sentimental at this time. So, with that, I would have to say my family. I’m excited and grateful to be planting and growing roots locally.
