Premier Pulse     March 2026

Joesph Nobile, MD

What is your clinical specialty?
Critical Care Medicine

Where did you go to school?
I attended Georgetown University for college, earned my medical degree at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, completed residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and finished fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

What brought you to Premier Health?
My wife matched at The Ohio State University for her advanced cardiology fellowship, and a colleague I trained with recommended Premier Health when he joined the organization.

Why did you choose medicine as a career?
I've always enjoyed puzzles and machines—I was the kid who took toys apart and put them back together. In high school, I became fascinated by biology, and that interest grew as I studied human physiology. I see the human body as the ultimate complex machine. Medicine allows me to apply that curiosity while helping people in a meaningful, personal way.

Who are the people who influenced and/or mentored you?
My uncle, an ophthalmologist, greatly influenced me. He built a successful practice while maintaining a strong work-life balance.

What is one thing most people don't know about you?
I'm on a long-distance trivia team with friends from residency.

Where is your hometown?
Bronx, NY

What, if any, sports team(s) do you cheer for?
Meh, sports.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

What is your favorite hobby?
Learning piano

What is your favorite animal, and why?
Most birds—I've always been fascinated by flight (though not Canadian geese).

Where is your favorite vacation spot, and why?
Disney World for the atmosphere and rides. Otherwise, I enjoy exploring new places—there's so much to see.

Describe something (a thing, person, place, experience, etc.) for which you are especially thankful:
I'm grateful for my wife's constant support, especially during long hours and night shifts—and for my 24/7 curbside cardiology consultant.
