COVID-19 and Flu Testing

Testing for COVID-19 and the flu plays an important role in determining effective treatment and prevention for these illnesses.

I Have Symptoms or Am Preparing for a Surgery or Procedure: Screening (Nasal Pharyngeal) Testing

Screening (nasal pharyngeal) testing enables medical providers to determine the proper course of treatment for individuals who are:

Screening (nasal pharyngeal) testing is available at eleven locations in Southwest Ohio through Premier Health, Premier Health Urgent Care and CompuNet Clinical Laboratories. Please note:

  • A physician’s order is required at all locations. Many orders will be electronic that your physician will send to the testing location of your choice.
  • Testing is by appointment only at all locations except at OnMain (formerly Montgomery County Fairgrounds), located on Main St. across from Miami Valley Hospital.
  • The University of Dayton Arena site is now closed.

To ensure an orderly process, it is vitally important that if you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or the flu, first contact your family physician or primary care provider and work with your provider’s office to see if you meet certain criteria before you come to any of the collection sites. If you do not have a physician’s order, you will not be screened.

I Don't Have Symptoms But Want or Need to Be Tested

If you are asymptomatic, meaning you currently don’t have symptoms of COVID-19, but who want to be tested or rule out a diagnosis of COVID-19, Premier Health offers screening testing if you don’t have symptoms of COVID-19 but may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, as identified through contact tracing. Talk with your provider to determine what screening test is right for you.
