Academic Partnerships Benefits Premier Health

You may be considering a return to school to obtain a BSN and are wondering which programs are available and how to choose the best one that will meet your personal needs. This article will direct you where to find a list of partner schools that offer online and face-to-face programs, scholarships, discounted tuition, or tuition assistance match. Additionally, you will learn questions to ask so you can compare programs and find one that will best meet your needs.

All of our partner schools are listed on our intranet in Academic Partnerships on the Learning Institute page. Information is updated on a regular basis, including school announcements, deadlines and new programs.

Featured RN-BSN Programs

Below is information about two of our partner schools:

Wright State University

Wright State University is offers an online RN-BSN completion program designed for busy working nurses.

The university provides a tuition assistance match to benefit eligible Premier Health nurses who have successfully completed their initial employment period, have been approved for tuition assistance, and are enrolled in the BSN program. This means that nurses can complete the program with very little out-of-pocket expense.

Graduates find the faculty to be very supportive in helping students succeed in the program.

The spring 2018 application deadline is November 1, 2017, and the fall 2018 deadline is July 1, 2018. Learn more about the program and admission process at Wright State University.

Theresa Haghnazarian, the BSN program advisor, is willing to answer any questions and assist you in applying to the program. She can be reached at (937) 775-3131(937) 775-3131

Indiana Wesleyan University

Indiana Wesleyan University’s RN-BSN program offers an onsite cohort at Miami Valley Hospital and Upper Valley Medical Center. The next start date for the Miami Valley Hospital cohort is March 12, 2018. The cohort at Upper Valley Medical Center is new and will begin later this fall.

Premier Health employees receive a 10 percent discount on tuition. The program is completed in 15 months. Books are mailed to your home two weeks before each course. Student services include off-campus library services and tutoring.

Comparing RN-BSN Programs

When comparing programs, there is more to know than tuition fees. Ask the university representatives or advisers these questions:

  • What is the average time to complete the program on a full-time or part-time basis?
  • What is the graduation rate?
  • Is the program accredited?
  • What support services are provided (such as technical or library services)?
  • How many courses or credit hours are required to complete the program?
  • What is the total overall cost?

Knowing the answers to these questions can help you to determine the best RN-BSN program for you.

Tuition Assistance

After deciding upon a program, remember your tuition assistance benefit provided by Premier Health. The policy and required forms needed to apply for tuition assistance are accessible under Human Resources, Benefits on Inside Premier
