COVID-19 Testing Before Surgery/Procedure

Nothing matters more to us during your stay than your safety and peace of mind. Premier Health is committed to ensuring you have a caring, comfortable environment in which to heal.

Premier Health continues to adjust our processes to balance safety and efficiency. Over the past three months, the increasing supply of vaccine has helped to protect more and more health care workers. This, along with decreasing community prevalence and increasing immunization rates, have led to the following change for individuals who are undergoing a surgery or procedure within a Premier Health hospital.

COVID-19 tests are only required for:

  • Individuals undergoing open lung or airway procedures unless a positive test was obtained in the 90 days prior.
  • Any unvaccinated individual undergoing procedures under general anesthesia unless a positive test was obtained in the 90 days prior.
  • Any unvaccinated individual undergoing upper endoscopy unless a positive test was obtained in the 90 days prior.

Please talk with your provider to determine if a COVID-19 test is needed before your surgery or procedure.

Schedule your COVID-19 test.

Do you offer walk-in tests at the hospital?

Premier Health hospitals do not offer walk-in COVID-19 tests.
