COVID-19 Testing Before Surgery/Procedure

Nothing matters more to us during your stay than your safety and peace of mind. Premier Health is committed to ensuring you have a caring, comfortable environment in which to heal.

Premier Health continues to adjust our processes to balance safety and efficiency for individuals who are undergoing a surgery or procedure within a Premier Health hospital.

For Outpatient Procedures And Inpatient Perioperative Testing:

A COVID-19 test may be done at the hospital on the morning of your procedure for:

  • Any patient undergoing open lung or open airway procedures unless a positive test was obtained in the 90 days prior.

Please talk with your provider to determine if your procedure should be rescheduled.

For Patients Being Admitted For Medical/Surgical Reasons:

A COVID-19 test is required unless a positive test was obtained in the prior 90 days for:

  • Patients admitted with respiratory or non-respiratory symptoms suspected to be the result of an active COVID-19 infection.
  • Patients being admitted to the inpatient Behavioral Health Unit unless there is proof of either infection within the last 90 days, or the patient has been fully vaccinated.

If you have questions, please talk with your provider to determine if a COVID-19 test is needed before your surgery or procedure.

Schedule your COVID-19 test.
