What is the normal recovery time after minimally invasive gynecologic surgery?

Because minimally invasive gynecologic surgery involves fewer to no incisions, there is less bleeding, scarring and pain, according to the Mayo Clinic.

According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, those benefits result in faster recovery times. Patients undergo a minimally invasive gynecologic procedure aren’t required to stay in the hospital, whereas open procedures require two to four days of hospitalization after surgery, according to the ASRM. This could mean that a woman’s overall recovery time could be cut by weeks with a minimally invasive procedure, according to the ASRM.
