Which gynecologic cancer has the highest recurrence rate?

Cancers that are diagnosed at a later stage are those most likely to recur, regardless of the type of gynecological cancer, according to the National Institutes of HealthOff Site Icon (NIH).

Recurrence of ovarian cancer is highest among gynecologic cancers, according to the Society of Gynecologic OncologyOff Site Icon (SGO). Among early-stage ovarian cancer patients, the recurrence rate is about 25 percent, according to the SGO. The SGO states that among those patients with advanced-stage ovarian cancer, the recurrence rate is more than 80 percent.
