What are the symptoms of cervical cancer?

Cervical cancer has the same symptoms of other health problems, so it is important that women have regular check-ups with their gynecologist, according to the American Cancer SocietyOff Site Icon (ACS).

Initial symptoms may include abnormal bleeding, spotting, or watery discharge, according to the American College of Obstetricians and GynecologistsOff Site Icon (ACOG). According to the ACOG, further symptoms include:

  • Bleeding after sex
  • Heavier menstrual bleeding
  • Pelvic pain
  • Swollen legs
  • Trouble urinating
