What are risk factors for endometrial cancer?

Endometrial cancer is common among women in developed countries, according to the National Institutes of HealthOff Site Icon (NIH). Cases of endometrial cancer are on the rise in both premenopausal and postmenopausal women, the NIH reports.

According to the The American College of Obstetricians and GynecologistsOff Site Icon (ACOG), risk factors include:

  • Age; past menopause or over 60
  • Genetics
  • Hormone levels; the presence of estrogen without progesterone
  • Overweight
