Is insomnia common for older adults?

Insomnia is a common sleep problem for older adults, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human ServicesOff Site Icon (HHS).

As we get older, medical problems can affect our sleep. Sleep apnea, anxiety, and depression all can also cause sleeping trouble that can lead to insomnia, Premier Physician Network (PPN) physicians say.
