Answers to Common Eye Health Questions

Premier Health providers answer frequently asked questions about eye health.

What is eyelid surgery, and when is it needed?

Eyelid surgery – also known as blepharoplasty – is a surgical procedure used to improve both sight and the appearance of the eyelid, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

The surgery can be for the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, according to the ASPS.

Eyelid surgery is needed once the eyelid becomes droopy enough that it starts causing a vision impairment, according to the Premier Physician Network (PPN).
