What are the symptoms of glaucoma?

Glaucoma – a group of eye diseases that can damage the optic nerve – develops slowly without symptoms and oftentimes leaves people unaware that they have it, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Glaucoma frequently is called the silent eye disease because of its lack of symptoms at first. Without detection and treatment, peripheral vision loss will become a sign of glaucoma, according to the NIH.

Eventually vision will become tunnel-like, then will eventually turn to total vision loss, according to the NIH.
