Answers to Common Chronic Neck Pain Questions

Premier Health providers answer frequently asked questions about chronic neck pain.

How is neck pain diagnosed?

When you complain of neck pain, your doctor will typically take X-rays to get a view of your spinal alignment and see whether you have arthritis or a bone spur that may contribute to the pain. These tests will help your doctor gain an understanding of how to treat your pain. Your doctor may also order an MRI to further assist in the diagnosis.
