Another step in the system Magnet journey has been completed with the submission of the Magnet document on April 2, 2018. The document was sent to our team of five appraisers and the Magnet office. The appraiser team has reviewed and approved the Organizational Overview section of the document and will take approximately four months to review the rest of the document and give us feedback for any supplemental documents/evidence. After any additions to the document and the appraiser’s final review, they will partner with us in setting up a site visit that we anticipate will happen in late fall of this year.

During the monthly Premier Shared Governance council meetings, the Magnet standards summaries and site examples based on the components of Transformational Leadership, Structural Empowerment, Exemplary Professional Practice, and New Knowledge, have showcased all of the exciting work of Atrium Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital (closed in 2018), Miami Valley Hospital, and Upper Valley Medical Center nurses. These examples are available on the Shared Governance web page and are sent out with the monthly bullet points to assist all units and departments in coming up with their own examples to share during the site visit. We invite you to review the Magnet document following the steps below:
