The heart has two components. One is the electrical system and the other is the mechanical system. The electrical system consists of a natural pacemaker, which is located in the roof of the right upper chamber from where all these electrical impulses originate. They connect in the middle of the heart right down to the bottom chamber. That causes the mechanical contraction of the heartbeat. If you check your pulse, if it is 60 to 70 bpm the electrical, the natural pacemaker is firing 60 to 70 times per minute. That results in the sequential contraction of the heart leading to the circulation of the blood to the brain, kidney, liver, and so on and so forth.
