In spite of the pandemic, preparations for your baby have undoubtedly begun! Here are a few changes you can expect during the months leading up to your due date.

Meeting With Your Doctor

Most obstetricians now allow more than one visitor to accompany you during appointments per guidelines set by the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association. To be sure, check with your provider before your next appointment.

Childbirth Education

  • Understanding Your Newborn

This breastfeeding class is offered both online and in person:

  • Birthing Naturally Childbirth Preparation for those planning to deliver in Family Beginnings Birth Center at Miami Valley Hospital or those who want an unmedicated birth at Miami Valley Hospital or Miami Valley Hospital South.
  • Family Beginnings Orientation for those planning to deliver at Family Beginnings at Miami Valley Hospital
  • Natural Beginnings Orientation for those planning to deliver at Natural Beginnings at Atrium Medical Center

Masks are required to be worn at all times while you’re in the hospital.

Maternity Center Tours

On-site maternity center tours (with masking at all times) are available, as well as virtual toursThe virtual tours include a 360-degree view of every room you may encounter, including triage, labor and delivery, post-partum, special care nursery, and family waiting area.
