Childbirth Support From Those You Love During COVID-19

We know how important it is to have support from family and friends at this time. And we want you to be surrounded by those you love. Yet we also care deeply about your safety during COVID-19. Per guidelines established by Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA), the following precautions are currently in place:

  • The number of support persons/visitors permitted during and following labor and delivery are set by GDAHA:
    • You can designate two support persons to accompany you during labor, delivery, and until you are discharged. They must be the same two support persons for your entire stay. Doulas will be counted as one of these support persons. To keep you and your newborn safe, additional visitors are not permitted.
    • If you are younger than 18 years old, your support persons are limited to one parent or guardian, and one other person.
    • Babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are allowed two visitors during the duration of their stay, with two visitors allowed at a time.
  • For everyone’s safety, all support persons/visitors will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19, and if ill, will not be permitted to visit. Masks will be provided.
  • Normal hospital visiting hours are in effect.
