Robotic surgery is one type of minimally invasive surgery. It enables surgeons to perform complex procedures using small, rather than large, incisions (cuts). Only a few stitches are used to close the incisions.

Benefits of robotic surgery for patients can include:

  • Less pain
  • Less scarring
  • Less blood loss
  • Less risk of infection
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Reduced recovery time
  • Quicker return to normal activities
