Don’t be left behind! Get registered today for either of these valuable learning experiences while space is still available.

  • June 9, 12:00 – 2:00 pm, “Pot and Prevention: How do we Talk About Marijuana in These Changing Times?”. Join us as we work together to help each other identify specific barriers we face when addressing marijuana within our communities, and how to use this new information when articulating prevention messages about marijuana when talking to others. We will explore the power of language and the importance of choosing our words carefully, as well as how to frame presentations and conversations around research versus opinion. In addition, we will discuss key persuasion techniques that should be in any preventionist’s toolbox. Presented by Allison Sharer, OCPC, Wingspan Training, LLC.
  • Aug. 21, 12:00 – 2:00 pm, “To Do Or Not To Do? Navigating Effective Strategies in Prevention”. This training will address why outdated prevention practices do not resonate with youth, nor work in preventing youth from using substances. Learn about the developing brain and why some messages work better than others. Also, learn how to transform your strategies using best prevention practices.

Be sure to bring your brown bag lunch! ADAMHS will provide coffee and water as well as a FREE parking pass to park in the Water Street garage which is required parking for all attendees. The parking garage is accessible by turning at the stop light at the intersection of E. Monument Ave. and Water Street. Drive up the slight Water St. incline until you see the parking garage entrance on your left. To register visit Prevention Learning Collaborative Eventbrite.
